GAMEDAY: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RETURNS HOME TO FACE EAST STROUDSBURG

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team returns to The Tank this afternoon as they host East Stroudsburg University at 1 PM. The Dolphins come in 0-3 following Wednesday's loss against Bloomfield College. The Warriors are 2-0 on the year following wins over Virginia Union and Shaw last weekend.

The Dolphins suffered a tough loss in their last outing on Wednesday as they came from behind to take the lead over Bloomfield in the fourth quarter only to see that lead get away in the closing minutes. The Warriors have not played since they took part in the Millersville Conference Challenge to open their season last weekend. In their first game on Saturday, the Warriors defeated Virginia Union 67-59. The following day, they knocked off Shaw by a final score of 64-51.

Jenalyse Alarcon leads the Dolphins in points, rebounding, and assists through the team's first three contests and is scoring an average of 20 points per game to go along with nearly 9 rebounds. Also averaging double-figures is Ashley Lambert who is scoring 11 points per game behind 35% three-point shooting. Ryan Weise has been nothing short of dominant through two games for the Warriors averaging over 30 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Not only has she scored points in bunches, but she has done so while shooting 85% from the field and 80% from beyond the arc. Tasked with slowing her down will likely be Alarcon who comes in with a very impressive stat line of her own.
