Following back-to-back Messiah Mallory buckets, the Dolphins built up an eight-point lead with just under 13 minutes to go in the half. CSI's defensive prowess had Molloy cold over the next recent stretch. Following a timeout, the Lions began to close the gap behind some physical play in the paint. They cut the deficit to three with just over six minutes to go in the first half. CSI would respond and both teams went back-and-forth in the final minutes before intermission. The Dolphins entered halftime up five, 35-30. To start the second half, CSI extended their lead to 10 off of a fast break bucket and midrange shot from Chris Velasquez at the 15:41 mark. The Dolphins didn't stop there. Behind a three ball from Waterman, they found themselves up 53-38, forcing the Lions to talk it over.
