CSI KEEPS ON ROLLING IN NAIL-BITER WIN AGAINST ROBERTS WESLEYAN COLLEGE, 80-77

Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team survived yet another late-game scare as they hung on to beat Roberts Wesleyan College, 80-77. This is now two-straight wins for the Dolphins. CSI improves to 7-13 on the season (6-7 ECC), while on the other side, the Redhawks fall to 8-9 overall (6-6 ECC).

KEY MOMENTS
The Dolphins got things started early off of a Luis Armas triple. They would jump out to a quick 8-2 lead, just over three minutes into the contest. Following a Redhawk triple, things would be knotted up at 10. After a timeout, both teams traded blows. Austin Mick would give the Dolphins the lead, 15-14, behind a wing three-pointer with just over 12 minutes to go in the half. Bryce Waterman drilled back-to-back threes for CSI, but the two teams would continue their back-and-forth affair. The Dolphins would own a one-point advantage at the 7:42 mark, 25-24. Roberts Wesleyan College responded as they ripped off a quick 7-0 run, and they took a 31-25 lead with six minutes to go. Both teams were quiet until CSI scratched on consecutive possessions following a Max Butler and-1, and a Messiah Mallory finish. The Dolphins regained the lead with just over a minute left in the half and would enter the break leading, 37-36. The Redhawks open the half on an 8-0 run, forcing the Dolphins to talk it over. Behind an offensive borage from the Redhawks, CSI would trail 53-41 with just under 14 minutes to go. The Dolphins would answer with an 8-0 run of their own as they closed the gap at the 12:19 mark, 53-49. CSI began to gain momentum as they turned defense in to offense. Teams traded blows behind a Waterman triple and a Redhawks and-1 with under 10 minutes left in the second half. Right when it looked like Roberts Wesleyan College would pull away, CSI responded and cut the lead to just two, 69-67, after trailing by eight. Behind a huge Mick triple, the Dolphins would occupy a one-point advantage, 72-71. They would never look back. Both squads would trade baskets in crunch time, but CSI would hang on to win, 80-77.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Dolphins had a balanced floor game tonight. They scored 80 points, grabbed down 43 rebounds, and dished out 17 assists. In the contest they shot 44% from the field, 30% from three and 55% from the line. The Dolphins outrebounded the Redhawks by seven (43-36) and drilled four more three-balls (10-6). The Redhawks were right on par with CSI as they shot 44% from the field, 23% from three, and 65% from the line.

DOLPHIN OF THE GAME
Tonight's Dolphins of the Game go to Messiah Mallory and Bryce Waterman. They each poured in 17 points as they were integral pieces to the Dolphins offensive production. Mallory also secured 15 rebounds on the night. Waterman knocked down a team-high four triples and was an efficient 50% (6/12), while Mallory was nearly perfect from the field (7/8).
