Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field teams competed in their first event of the season in Glassboro, NJ. CSI competed in the Oscar Moore Invitational against numerous other colleges. CSI took part in ten events in total; five of which recorded new school & personal best records. INSIDE THE MEET
In the 100-meter dash, Kyle Quesda set a personal record with a time of 11.92, as he came in 10
th place for the Dolphins men's team. For the women's team,
Caitlyn Burns also set a personal high with a time of 13.65, which was good for 3
rd place.
Emily Albano ran a 14.95 which catapulted her into the 10
th spot. In the women's 800,
Julia Calvo ran for a time of 2:50.88 as she placed 15
th. In the field events,
Florentina Lonati set a collegiate personal record in the women's javelin throw with a distance of 27.33m as she finished in 7
th place. For women's shot-put event,
Skylar Pointer set a school record with a throw of 9.47m. This placed her in the 11
th spot.

Andrew Gangemi on his team's performance today, "Despite the cold, wet, and a few snowflakes, we had a very successful opener. Kyle Quesda and
Caitlyn Burns opened up on the track with personal records in the 100m. Our throwers set school and personal records in their respective events. We had some solid progress in the distance events.
Florentina Lonati set a collegiate personal best in the javelin.
Ava Thompson set the school record in the Discus.
Skylar Pointer set the school record in the shot put and hammer throw."
