Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field teams competed in their second event of the season in Ewing, NJ. CSI took part in the College of New Jersey Invitational against several other colleges. CSI participated in 11 events in total; six of which recorded new school & personal best records.
INSIDE THE MEET
In the 100-meter dash,
Caitlyn Burns placed in 13
th for the women's squad with a time of 13.47. Kyle Quesda set a personal record with a time of 11.89, as he came in 3
rd place for the Dolphins men's team.
Vincent Ohenhen set a school record with a time of 11.08 as he placed in fourth place in the 100-meter finals. He also set a personal record with a time of 22.77 in the 200-meter in which he finished in the seventh spot. In the men's 1500,
Muhammed Qadri,
Daniel Palmieri, and
Alan Bass all set personal records. Qadri ran a 4:36.01 (31
st place), Bass ran a 4:49.73 (38
th place), and Palmieri ran a 5:02.91 (42
nd place). In the women's 800-meter,
Hailey Caruso set an outdoor personal record with a time of 3:00.56. She finished in 32
nd. In the field events,
Florentina Lonati came in seventh overall in the javelin throw with a distance of 26.22m. In Discus,
Ava Thompson came in 8
th place with a throw of 30.18m.
Rebecca Andes led the Dolphins in the women's hammer throw as she set a personal record of 29.18m. Lastly for women's shot-put event,
Skylar Pointer placed in 12
th overall with a throw of 9.24m.
