MEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY PLACES 8TH AT FRED PAVLICH INVITATIONAL

9/24/2022 3:00:00 PM

Annadale-on-Hudson, NY - The College of Staten Island Cross-Country Team returned to action earlier today in the Fred Pavlich Invitational.  In a field that was a bit more crowded than years past, the Dolphins took eighth place in the men's 6k event.  Previously, the event saw as few as seven teams compete.  However, this year's field featured teams from eleven schools.  On the women's side, official results were not immediately available, but the Dolphins entered the meet looking to improve upon their performance two weeks ago in the Purchase College Invitational where they finished ninth.

The men's squad included five participants that posted time led by Muhammed Qadri who posted a time of 22.50.0.  Alan Bass, Matthew Amato, and Pedro Astudillo were all not far behind with times of 23.18.0, 23.44.5, and 24.34.6 respectively.  Jamel Reynolds rounded out the CSI men's team with a time of 34.47.8.

Once again it was the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College that took the top spot in the 6K with two of their runners posting the top two times in the event.  The field also featured three former CUNY rivals of CSI including Hunter College, which finished fourth, John Jay, which finished ninth, and Lehman College, which finished eleventh.
