GAMEDAY: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL BACK HOME FOR WEEKEND SHOWDOWN WITH MOLLOY

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team will be back on their home floor today as they host the Molloy University Lions at 1 PM. The Dolphins enter today's game 5-11 on the year and 1-5 against the East Coast Conference. The Lions come into The Tank 3-12 and are 2-4 in conference play. Molloy has won all five of the previous meetings between the two teams dating back to 1983.

The Dolphins hit the road on Wednesday for a matchup with CUNY rival Queens College in East Coast Conference play. The Dolphins fell 66-55 to the Knights in what was their third straight defeat. The Lions last played on Wednesday as well and suffered a defeat at the hands of the University of the District of Columbia, 63-48. The loss for the Lions was their fourth consecutive defeat.

Jenalyse Alarcon and Ashley Lambert remain the Dolphins only players averaging double-digit scoring and the duo led CSI in scoring once again on Wednesday with 12 and 14 points respectively. Alarcon also had 14 rebounds against the Knights to register her fourth double-double of the season. Trinity Hudson is the only player scoring more than ten points per game for Molloy and the team is shooting just 30% from the field and 19% from beyond the arc on the season. However, it was the Lions defense that stifled the Dolphins in the two meetings last season as CSI failed to score 40 points both times they faced Molloy. On the glass, Hudson is also Molloy's leading rebound and is one of two Lions averaging at least 8 rebounds per game. The second, Giani Domond, is also the team's second-leading scorer with 8.3 points per game. Both teams will be looking to end losing streaks of at least three games entering today's matchup and a win for the Dolphins would be their first against Molloy in the history of the program.
