JAZMINE SEVERO NAMED EAST COAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Staten Island, NY - It was announced earlier today that Jazmine Severo has been named the East Coast Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for Indoor Track & Field. The award for Severo is the first of her Dolphins career and the first conference honor for the Dolphins this season.

SEVEROECC_13023 — **Severo matched her previous record of 1.55m in the High Jump at the Gotham cup on 1/20**

The CSI freshman has made an immediate impression since joining the Dolphins this season specializing in the High Jump. She opened the season by setting a new CSI record in that event at the Youree Spence Garcia Invitational in the season-opener. She then topped her own record when CSI returned to action at the Spartan Invitational and matched the same record-breaking mark of 1.55m at the Gotham Cup one week later. Finally, Severo set yet another new CSI record with a height of 1.62m in the High Jump this past weekend at the Wesleyan Indoor Invite and took first-place in the event at that meet. That height is also good for the best mark in the East Coast Conference this season.
