Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

MEN'S BASKETBALL EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO THREE WITH DOMINANT SHOWING AGAINST GEORGIAN COURT

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team picked up their third consecutive win earlier tonight as they defeated the Lions of Georgian Court University behind a dominant effort, 80-59.  The Dolphins improve to 3-2 with the victory while the Lions drop to 1-2 through their first three games.  The win for the Dolphins avenges a loss to Georgian Court last season in the lone prior meeting between the two teams.

The Dolphins got off to a strong start scoring the first seven points of the game and twelve of the first thirteen points.  The Lions did not record their first made field goal until the 15:11 mark in the first half and they pulled to within single-digits for the final time five minutes later.  Leading 22-14, the Dolphins surged ahead by as many as 21 points before halftime behind strong offensive efforts from Messiah Mallory and Bryce Waterman.  The Dolphins shot an incredible 61% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc in the first half while holding the Lions to sub-28% shooting.

The Lions shot far better in the second half, but the CSI lead was too much to overcome.  The Lions never got any closer than 15 points in the second half and the outside shooting struggles for Georgian Court continued all the way through the final buzzer.

Four Dolphins scored in double-figures including both Waterman and Mallory who did much of their damage in the first half.  Mallory finished one rebound shy of a double-double after leaving the game due to injury early in the second half.  A strong second half for Jordan McAllister saw him score 11 points and Chris Clancy also scored 11 behind 3-5 three-point shooting off the bench.

The Dolphins hit the road for the first time this season on Sunday when they travel to Bentley University for another tough non-conference matchup.
