Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WILSON'S CAREER-HIGH 35 POINTS LEAD DOLPHINS PAST D'YOUVILLE, 96-77

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team picked up their first conference win of the season earlier today as Blake Wilson's 35 points helped lead the Dolphins past D'Youville University, 96-77.  The victory improves the Dolphins to 4-5 on the year and 1-1 in conference play.  The Saints end the day 2-6 on the season and 0-2 against the conference.  The Dolphins also remain unbeaten against the Saints all time as they are now 7-0 all-time against D'Youville.

The Dolphins got off to a strong start and went in front by ten for the first time just over four minutes into the game.  During those four minutes, Messiah Mallory opened the game with an emphatic dunk, Mitchell Wiggan turned a steal into another emphatic slam, and Blake Wilson connected on a trio of three-pointers.  Leading 17-7 in front of a raucous home crowd, extended their lead to fifteen points by halftime.  Leading the way was Wilson who finished the first half with 17 points and five made three-pointers.

After the Saints cut the CSI lead to eleven coming out of halftime, Wilson quickly responded with his sixth three-pointer of the game to extend the lead back to fourteen.  The Saints would never get any closer than eleven the rest of the way, and Wilson would go on to tie a program record with nine made threes.  Mallory would also finish the game with 18 points, and the Dolphins shot 57% from the field as a team.

The Dolphins will return to action on Wednesday night as they hit the road for a matchup with Adelphi University.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Wednesday night.
