GAMEDAY: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HOPES TO REPEAT HISTORY IN ECC CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST ROUND AGAINST UDC

Washington, DC - The #5 seed College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team will return to the site of the program's first Division II postseason victory tonight when they take on the #4 seed University of the District of Columbia in the opening round of the East Coast Conference Women's Basketball Championship. The Dolphins finished the regular season 10-17 overall and 7-9 against the ECC. The Firebirds finished the year 19-9 including an 11-5 mark in conference play. After CSI upset UDC in the first round of the playoffs last season, the Firebirds swept the Dolphins during the 2023-2024 regular season. This kept UDC perfect against the Dolphins all-time during the regular season.

Last season, the Dolphins visited UDC as the #5 seed and upset the Firebirds in the first round of the ECC Championship. The Dolphins would then go on to lose to Daemen University in the conference semifinals. Last year against the Firebirds, Jenalyse Alarcon had a career night scoring 34 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in 40 minutes. Four other Dolphins scored in double-figures and Kaia Johnson also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
