CROSS-COUNTRY POSTS 2024 SCHEDULE

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Cross-Country program officially released its 2024 schedule late last week, exactly three weeks ahead of the 2024 season. The schedule features five meets, all culminating with the East Coast Conference Championship on October 26^th. Any NCAA Regional qualifiers will then compete two weeks later on November 9^th leaving around one month before many of the program's student-athletes will shift their focus to Indoor Track & Field in December.

The CSI Cross-Country / Track & Field program made significant strides under first-year head coach Akil St. Louis during the 2023-2024 season. First, three Dolphins posted times ranking in the top 25 in program history at last year's ECC Cross-Country Championship. For the men, Wayne Stephenson and Jah Whyte each posted times that placed them in the top-25 for the 8K. Elizabeth Nicotra also posted the 9^th-best time in program history for the women's 5K. Finishing the Cross-County season on a high note, countless more program records were broken during the Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field seasons that followed. All of this made for an extremely successful year for the program, one that they will look to build upon in 2024.

The Dolphins will begin the 2024 season on September 6^th when they make their third appearance in the Adelphi Panthers XC Invite. Three weeks later, the Dolphins will return to action at the Fred Pavlich Invitational, a meet they have participated in every season since 2018. Two weeks after that, the Dolphins resume competition at the Highlander Invitational, another meet in which they have extensive history dating back to 2017. Finally, the St. Joseph's - Long Island Invitational will be their final meet ahead of the ECC Championship and a potential trip to NCAA Regionals.
