DOLPHINS SCORE HUGE WIN OVER MOLLOY FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT CONFERENCE VICTORY

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team continued their run of dominance in conference play earlier tonight as they defeated Molloy University at The Tank, 74-46.  The win for the Dolphins is their fourth straight overall and their sixth straight in conference play.  With the victory, CSI ends the night 12-6 on the year and 6-1 against the ECC.  The Lions fall to 9-9 on the season and 3-4 in conference play.

The Dolphins fell behind 2-0 in the opening minutes, and CSI did not score for the first time until the 7:22 mark.  However, once the Dolphins got on the board, they proceeded to score seventeen unanswered points to go in front 17-2.  That lead stood at fifteen after the first quarter and grew to eighteen by halftime.  Molloy would not get any closer than twenty during the final eighteen minutes of the game, and the Dolphins went on to pick up a lopsided 28-point victory.  

Jenalyse Alarcon led the Dolphins with 20 points to go along with three blocks and four steals.  Dana Phelan scored 12 on four three-pointers, and Amber Abusbeih scored 11.  As a team, the Dolphins shot 47% from the field and 38% from beyond the arc.  The Dolphins held Molloy to just 23% shooting and forced 22 Lions turnovers.

The Dolphins will look to continued their win streak on the road this weekend when they visit CUNY rival Queens College on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
