1/28/2025 11:00:00 AM

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island's Women's Bowling Sports Club team competed in back-to-back Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Tournament (EIBT) competitions this past weekend. Both the CSI Varsity and Junior Varsity teams placed fifth in Saturday's EIBT #3 competition as the Dolphins completed their second appearance in the event since the club program's inception in late-2023.  On Sunday at EIBT #4, the Dolphins Varsity team placed third as they once again competed in that event for the second time in the history of the program.

For EIBT #3 at Rab's Country Lanes on Staten Island, CSI went with two teams, a varsity team made up of Alyssa Bisschoff, Zonovia Cardona, Rachel Munoz, Annisa Desir and Sabrina Demirovic, and a Junior Varsity team of Skylyn Cardona, Brittany Fields, Giavanna Rotondo, and Rehma Fatima.  During Saturday's competition, CSI's total pinfall count finalized at 2,648 for the Varsity team with Monmouth University taking the top spot with 4,360 pinfalls. On the JV side, CSI tallied a total pinfall of 1,559 while Monmouth's JV team also took the top spot with 4,265 pinfalls.

On Sunday, during EIBT #4 at Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ, CSI took their top eight bowlers to form one Varsity team (five starters, three subs) as there were no extra lanes for JV teams. CSI finalized its pinfall at 2,235 with Sacred Heart University taking the top spot with 4,285 pinfalls.  In the individual women's bracket, consisting of 32 female bowlers, third-year bowler and team captain Bisschoff finished 20th with a total of 318 across three games.  In game one, she posted a high score of 123. The bulk of the team finished right behind Bisschoff, with Rotondo, Desir, Fields, and Z. Cardona finishing 23rd-26th respectively.

The Dolphins will host one final post-practice in the coming days for a tournament recap with Coach Jeffery Martin before shifting their focus to next season. During the off-season, the CSI Women's Bowling Sports Club will welcome new members to join the team in Fall 2025.  Members will have the opportunity to grow with a trained coach and to build camaraderie with teammates competing within the USBC for the love of bowling.  Those interested, please fill out a Women's Bowling interest form HERE.
