Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

HUGE SHOOTING NUMBERS LEAD DOLPHINS TO DECISIVE WIN OVER WILDCATS, 99-75

Wilmington, DE - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team put up huge shooting numbers earlier today as they defeated Wilmington University, 99-75.  The Dolphins improve to 6-9 with the victory, their first in program history against the Wildcats.  Wilmington falls to 3-11 with the loss.

The Dolphins jumped ahead by four early, but the Wildcats took their first lead of the game four minutes into the first half.  The Wildcats would go ahead by seven behind a 9-1 run, but the Dolphins wasted no time taking the lead back just two minutes later.  Wilmington would go in front once more with eleven minutes to play in the half, but from here, the Dolphins seized control of the game.  CSI would take a ten-point lead into halftime behind nine first-half three-pointers, and they would continue their red-hot shooting after the break.

Messiah Mallory and Aaron Goldstein, each of whom hit five threes in the game, opened the second half with back-to-back makes from beyond the arc.  This pushed the CSI lead to nineteen, and just five minutes later, the Dolphins lead surpassed thirty.  The Dolphins continued their outside shooting barrage the rest of the way making another eight threes in the second half.  CSI also held the Wildcats under 38% shooting from the field and shot over 54% in the game as the Dolphins cruised to the 24-point win.

Mallory led the Dolphins with 26 and Goldstein added 19.  The duo accounted for ten of the seventeen CSI three-pointers in the game, and Justin Zieris added three more makes from beyond the arc.  Jaylin Horsey scored 21 for Wilmington, but no other Wildcat finished with more than eight points.

The Dolphins return to action on Wednesday when they resume conference play on the road against Mercy University.
