GAME DAY: MEN'S SOCCER LOOKS TO BOUNCE BACK IN CONFERENCE MATCH WITH D'YOUVILLE

STATEN ISLAND, NY - The College of Staten Island men's soccer team looks to bounce back from Wednesday's East Coast Conference (ECC) loss as they face D'Youville University on Saturday afternoon in Buffalo, NY. Both teams are seeking their first conference win of the season, with the Dolphins holding a 0-2-1 ECC record and the Saints at 0-1-1.

The Dolphins have been led by four different goal scorers this season, with Wolfgang Alvarado leading the team with three goals and six points. William Lopez, Koray Arslan, and Peterson Larose have each contributed four points through their performances. Luca Schelling has been a steady presence in goal over the last few matches, currently recording 28 saves, including a career-high nine stops against St. Thomas Aquinas (STAC).

In the previous meeting between the two teams, the Saints took the 4-2 victory over the Dolphins with a huge three goal second half. For the majority of the 2024 contest, the Dolphins responded to each Saints goal to keep the score level. However, shortly after the Dolphins scored their second goal, the Saints gained momentum and scored consecutive goals, resulting in a 4-2 defeat for the Dolphins.
