AMHERST, NY - The College of Staten Island men's soccer team wrapped up its 2025 campaign on a positive note, earning a commanding 5-1 win over East Coast Conference (ECC) opponent Daemen University on Saturday afternoon at Royal Park in Amherst, NY.
The Dolphins delivered their best offensive performance of the season, striking three times in the first half and never looking back. Peterson Larose led the way with two goals, while William Lopez and Koray Arslan each added one.
CSI opened the scoring 15 minutes into the match when Tai Torres launched a long throw-in toward the middle of the box, where Lopez finished to give the Dolphins a 1-0 lead. Just five minutes later, Larose doubled the advantage, collecting a pass from Badr Mesrar and booting the ball into the far-left corner from the right side.
Before the halftime whistle, Larose helped set up the third goal, driving down the right side and finding Arslan, who buried his shot to make it 3-0 at the break.
In the second half, Arslan again made an impact by dispossessing a Daemen player and firing a shot off the far post, which rebounded to Larose for his second tally of the match and CSI's fourth. Daemen avoided the shutout with a late goal, but an own goal by the Wildcats sealed the final 5-1 margin.
With the win, the Dolphins closed out their season with a 2-7-5 overall record and a 1-5-2 mark in ECC play.
