NEW HAVEN, CT - The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to action with a Northeast-10 meet earlier today as they traveled to New Haven for a matchup with Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). The CSI men fell to the Owls by a final score of 120-101. In the women's meet, the Owls took a decisive 142-82 win.
The Dolphins CSI men got off to a winning start with a victory in the 200 yard medley relay. The team of Vlad Siniagovskii, Tiki Keats, Julian Lopez, and Andi Bajollari posted a time of 1:40.98 to earn the first CSI victory of the meet. In the 200 yard medley relay, Lopez and William Kwan placed first and second respectively. Kwan then placed second in the 100 yard butterfly, and Maria Janecka earned the women a first-place finish in the 100 free.
Siniagovskii took one of the biggest individual wins for the men in the 100 yard backstroke with a margin of victory greater than five seconds. The CSI divers also scored four decisive wins as Jacqueline DeFranco and Yubal Parra combined to sweep the 1M and 3M events.
Today's meet was the last for the Dolphins against the NE-10. They will also have just one more meet before the new year, a meet that will take place next weekend. In their final outing of 2025, the Dolphins will compete in the Ranger Invitational hosted by Drew University. The two-day meet will begin on Friday and continue through the following day.
