STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team returned to the hardwood at The Tank on Tuesday evening, hosting No. 23 Bentley University. After an early deficit, the Dolphins were unable to recover, falling 64-41 and moving to 2-3 on the season.

Bentley opened the night with a 15-0 run before Dorothy Wiese put CSI on the board with a pair of freethrows. Racky Kane and Shonyae Edmonds added late points in the quarter, but the Dolphins trailed 20-6 heading into the second. However, CSI found more rhythm in the second and third frames, scoring 12 points in the second quarter behind nine points from Edmonds and a three-pointer from Dana Phelan.

The Dolphins continued to battle in an evenly matched third quarter. Arielle Barnes tallied her first points with a driving layup, followed by another bucket from Edmonds to cut the deficit to 40-22. Barnes and Kane carried the offense the rest of the way, helping CSI enter the fourth quarter down 51-35.

Bentley tightened up defensively in the final period, limiting CSI to six points to seal the 64-41 non-conference result. Edmonds led all Dolphins with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Barnes added 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Kane rounded out CSI's double-digit scorers with 11 points, going 5-of-8 from the field.

The Dolphins return to action at The Tank on Saturday, Nov. 29, when they host Southern Connecticut State at 1:00 PM.
