STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team returns to non-conference action on Wednesday evening, traveling to Garden City, NY to take on Adelphi University. The Dolphins and Panthers have met twice in program history, with the all-time series tied 1–1. CSI claimed the first meeting with a 68–60 win on December 31, 2022, before Adelphi responded the following year with a 75–49 victory.

In last season's matchup, Adelphi pulled away for a decisive 75–49 win. CSI was led by Dana Phelan and Kyra Rose, who scored 11 points each. Phelan shot an efficient 3-4 (75%) from beyond the arc, while Rose went 4-9 (44%) from the field and added six rebounds. The Dolphins trailed by just one, 15–14, after the opening quarter, but the Panthers took control in the second, outscoring CSI 12–9 and carrying the momentum the rest of the way.

This season, the Dolphins feature three players averaging double figures through the first eight games. Shonyae Edmonds leads the way with 12.9 ppg and is coming off a double-double performance against St. Thomas Aquinas (15 points, 13 rebounds). Racky Kane has returned to form, averaging 12.2 ppg and 6.4 rpg, while Rose stands at 11.6 ppg and leads the team with 7.4 rebounds per game.

Adelphi counters with two double-digit scorers, including a standout averaging 24.5 ppg, followed by another contributor at 13.5 ppg.
