STATEN ISLAND, NY - The College of Staten Island men's and women's indoor track and field teams will kick off their 2025–26 season at the Youree Garcia Invite, hosted by St. John's, at the Ocean Breeze Complex on Saturday. This marks the fourth straight year the Dolphins will open their season at this meet, returning once again to familiar territory.
In last season's opener, CSI set six new program records, two on the men's side and four on the women's. Among the returning athletes who set those marks were Dominik Hric in the weight throw, Elizabeth Nicotra in the 1K, and Adonijah Washington in the triple jump.
Given the Dolphins' consistent success in early-season meets, expectations are high for the 2025–26 indoor campaign. In last week's East Coast Conference (ECC) preseason polls, the men were ranked seventh with 38 points, while the women were selected eighth with 49 points.
