GAMEDAY: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FACES MERCY WITH PLAYOFF SPOT IN HAND

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team is now regionally ranked and has clinched a playoff spot as they welcome the Mercy University Mavericks into The Tank tonight at 5:30 PM. Entering the night, the Dolphins are 16–7 on the season and 9–2 against the ECC. The Mavericks are 13–8 on the year and 7–4 in conference play. Earlier this season, the Dolphins held on at the buzzer to defeat Mercy on the road, 60–58. This win brought the Dolphins to within one game in the all-time series which Mercy leads 4–3. A CSI win tonight would nearly clinch the number two seed in the conference playoffs as the Dolphins would move three games ahead of Mercy with four games to go. They would also secure any potential tiebreaker with the Mavericks by virtue of a season series sweep. A Mavericks win would open the door for Mercy to potentially leapfrog the Dolphins and take the number two seed with a strong finish to the season.
