GAMEDAY: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LOOKS TO CLINCH FIRST-ROUND PLAYOFF BYE AGAINST STAC

2/15/2025 6:00:00 AM

Sparkill, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team remains regionally ranked and is now just one victory away from clinching a first-round bye in the East Coast Conference postseason when they take on the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College today at 2:00 PM.  The Dolphins enter today's game on a four-game winning streak with a record of 17-7 overall and 10-2 in conference play.  The Spartans are 4-18 on the year, 2-10 in conference play, and have lost six straight games entering today's matchup with the Dolphins.  Earlier this season, the two teams met at The Tank in a game won by the Dolphins, 57-44.  That victory was just the second for the Dolphins against STAC in eight meetings, and they will be looking to sweep a season series from the Spartans for the first time ever today.  Still mathematically alive for the top seed in the conference, the Dolphins would be assured of a bye in the first round of the conference playoffs with a win in today's game.  The Dolphins lead Mercy University in the standings by three games with four to play, and CSI owns the tiebreaker by virtue of their win over the Mavericks on Wednesday night at home.

Gametime - 2:00 PM
Location - Sparkill, NY (The Tank)
All-Time Series - STAC leads, 6-2

Last Meeting - 1/11/25:  CSI won, 57-44
