STATEN ISLAND, NY - The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to the water at the Tank on Monday afternoon to host former CUNYAC opponent Baruch College at noon. The meet marks CSI's first competition since December 6, when the women set 10 new records and both teams finished second overall at the Ranger Invitational.
Dolphins On A Three Meet Win Streak
Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams enter the 2026 meeting with Baruch riding three-meet win streaks. In last season's matchup, the men earned a narrow 117.00–114.00 victory, while the women posted a 121.00–101.00 win. On the men's side, Yubal Parra broke two diving records—the 1-meter (319.55) and 3-meter (328.45) six-dive marks—which he has since reset this season at the Tank.
Women Looking To Continue Strong Performance in 2026
During the two-day Ranger Invitational, the Dolphins set 10 new records. Polly Struck opened the meet by breaking the 200 IM record with a time of 2:16.18, followed by Maja Tomaszewska, Aurelia Barbagallo, and Maria Janecka setting a new 200 medley relay record at 1:52.38. The same relay crew later broke the 400 medley relay record with a time of 4:04.57.
Struck and Janecka continued their dominant performances on Day 1, with Janecka setting the 100 butterfly record at 58.08 and Struck breaking the 400 IM record at 4:49.52. Barbagallo, Janecka, and two relay teams (Janecka, Struck, Tomaszewska, and Michaline Bukowska / Janecka, Tomaszewska, Bukowska, and Struck) accounted for the final records of the meet. Barbagallo captured the 200 butterfly record at 2:18.22, Janecka added records in the 200 freestyle (1:55.68) and 100 freestyle (52.90), and the Dolphins closed with new marks in the 400 freestyle relay (3:43.09) and 800 freestyle relay (8:17.14).
Team Comparisons
The CSI swimming and diving teams currently hold records of 4–4 on the men's side and 3–6 on the women's side. Baruch enters the meet with a 5–1 record for the men and a 4–3 mark for the women.
