BRIDGEPORT, CT – The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving teams wrapped up their 2025–26 regular season on Saturday morning in Connecticut against the University of Bridgeport. The Dolphins were defeated on both sides, with the women falling 132–79 and the men dropping a 173–48 decision. The meet was contested in meters, a departure from CSI's usual yard-based format.
The day opened and closed with relay events. In the 200-meter medley relay, the women placed second with a time of 2:08.92, while the men finished third at 1:53.63. The final event, the 200-meter freestyle relay, saw the women take third in 2:23.52, while the men surged to a second-place finish with a time of 1:47.01.
Top performers on the women's side included Maria Janecka, Polly Struck, Maja Tomaszewska, and Jacqueline DeFranco. Janecka captured first place in both of her individual events, winning the 200-meter freestyle in 2:14.63 and the 100-meter butterfly in 1:08.34. Struck and Tomaszewska each earned second-place finishes, with Struck posting a 2:37.06 in the 200-meter IM and Tomaszewska recording a 1:12.16 in the 100-meter breaststroke. DeFranco dominated the diving events, finishing first on both boards with scores of 153.45 on the 1-meter and 129.88 on the 3-meter.
On the men's side, standout performances came from Vlad Siniagovskii, Will Kwan, Andi Bajollari, and Yubal Parra. Siniagovskii secured the Dolphins' lone individual victory, winning the 100-meter backstroke in 59.92, and also placed second in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 25.33. Bajollari followed closely, finishing third in the same event at 25.34. Kwan placed fourth in the 800-meter freestyle, touching in at 9:22.62. Parra delivered strong results on the diving boards, finishing second in both events with scores of 214.73 on the 1-meter and 197.78 on the 3-meter.
The Dolphins now turn their attention to the Northeast 10 (NE10) Championships, scheduled for February 12–15 in Worcester, Massachusetts.
