MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA IN ECC MATCHUP

WASHINGTON, DC – The College of Staten Island men's soccer team traveled to Washington, DC, on Saturday afternoon to take on the University of the District of Columbia. The Dolphins were held scoreless throughout the contest, while the Firebirds found the back of the net three times in a 3-0 defeat for CSI.

In the first half, the Dolphins recorded just one shot, as Peterson Larose sent an attempt wide of the net. The Firebirds, meanwhile, tallied 16 shots and opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before adding another goal 10 minutes later to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

The second half was more evenly matched, with the Dolphins recording five shots to the Firebirds' six. Four of CSI's five attempts were on target, including two from Dylan Meadows and one each from Deniz Karcher and Emmanuel Kambouris.

Despite the Dolphins' stronger offensive showing in the second half, the Firebirds added one more goal to extend their lead to 3-0 and secure the victory.

The College of Staten Island men's soccer team (4-6-2, 2-3-2 ECC) will return to Dolphins Soccer Park for its final two matches of the regular season. The Dolphins will close out East Coast Conference play against St. Thomas Aquinas on Wednesday at 2:00 PM.
