GAME DAY: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WELCOMES D'YOUVILLE FOR SECOND REGULAR SEASON MEETING

2/6/2026 9:00:00 AM

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team will host their second regular-season meeting with the D'Youville University Saints on Friday evening at The Tank. The Dolphins enter the matchup riding a four-game winning streak against the Saints, dating back to their first meeting earlier this season in January.

Jan. 9, 2026 Meeting Summary

The two teams first met in the new year in Buffalo, NY, with CSI pulling out a 49-48 win in a low-scoring contest. After the Saints took an 11-6 lead in the opening quarter, the Dolphins responded with a 20-point second quarter to take a 26-17 advantage into halftime. CSI held D'Youville to just six points in the period while using the surge to flip the momentum in their favor.

In the second half, the Dolphins' scoring was led by Kyra Rose, Dana Phelan, Shonyae Edmonds, and Racky Kane.

Senior duo Rose and Phelan paced CSI offensively, with Rose recording a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Phelan added 11 points, including two three-pointers. Kane finished with seven points, third-most on the team, while also grabbing 10 rebounds and recording one block.

Rose Jumping the Ranks

Over the last five games, Rose has averaged 20.0 points per game, climbing into fifth place in the ECC scoring rankings with a season average of 14.3 ppg. She has also moved into the top three in the conference in rebounds per game, now averaging 7.9 boards per contest following her most recent double-double against Molloy.

Rose continues to lead the Dolphins in nearly every statistical category, including points, rebounds, field goal percentage (.455), free throw percentage (.692), assists (2.8), steals (1.8), and minutes played (32.9).

Record Comparisons

Both teams sit in the middle of the ECC standings, with D'Youville currently one spot ahead of CSI. The Dolphins enter the game with an 8-14 overall record and a 4-6 mark in conference play, while the Saints are 8-10 overall and 5-5 in ECC action.

Individual Scoring Comparison

Rose continues to lead CSI's attack, supported by Phelan, Edmonds, Arielle Barnes, and Giuliana Dito. Edmonds ranks second on the team with 10.3 ppg, while Phelan sits third at 9.6 ppg after scoring a career-high 30 points in last Wednesday's ECC win over Queens, highlighted by six made three-pointers. Barnes has posted back-to-back double-digit scoring performances to raise her average to 7.9 ppg, and Dito recently recorded a career-high 17 points against Molloy, knocking down three three-pointers.

D'Youville is led by one double-digit scorer averaging 14.2 ppg, followed by players averaging 9.9, 8.4, and 8.2 points per game.
