STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team continues its homestand Sunday afternoon as the Dolphins host No. 13 Daemen University (N.Y.) at The Tank. Daemen enters the matchup holding an undefeated 11–0 all-time record against CSI since the programs first met in 2021. Earlier this season, the Wildcats earned a 78–52 victory in Amherst in the teams' first regular-season meeting.

Jan. 11, 2026 Regular-Season Meeting

In the Jan. 11 matchup, CSI trailed Daemen by just two points, 15–13, after the opening quarter, with all five Dolphin starters contributing to the scoring. However, the Wildcats took control in the second quarter and never looked back, scoring 20 or more points in each remaining period while limiting CSI to a high of 15 points. Daemen secured the 78–52 win.

Kyra Rose led the Dolphins with 10 points and five rebounds. Dana Phelan added nine points, while Shonyae Edmonds and Giuliana Dito each chipped in eight.

Undefeated Daemen

CSI currently sits in the middle of the ECC standings as it battles for a postseason berth, while Daemen leads the conference with a perfect 11–0 record. The Wildcats are riding an eight-game winning streak after rebounding from a loss to Montana State Billings on Dec. 21 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Individual Scoring Comparison

CSI features two players averaging double figures, while Daemen has three. Rose leads the Dolphins at 13.8 points per game and ranks among the top three in the conference with 7.8 rebounds per contest. Phelan has had the hot hand from downtown after drilling five threes against D'Youville and she is third on the team with 10.0 ppg while Edmonds is second with 10.4 ppg.

Daemen's leading scorer averages 15.9 points per game while also pulling down 5.4 rebounds. She is supported by two additional Wildcats averaging 13.7 and 12.7 points per game, and the team's top rebounder averages 7.0 boards per contest.
