BUFFALO, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team secured the No. 5 seed in the East Coast Conference postseason and will travel to face No. 4 seed D'Youville University on Wednesday at 7:00 PM in Buffalo.

The Dolphins are aiming for a return trip to the ECC Championship after falling to top-seeded Daemen University, 76–68, in last season's title game.

Dolphins Split Regular Season Series with Saints

CSI and D'Youville split their regular-season matchups this year. The Dolphins earned a 49–38 road victory in Buffalo before dropping a 68–54 decision at home.

In the first meeting, the Dolphins managed just six points in the opening quarter but responded with a dominant second frame, outscoring the Saints 20–6 to seize control and secure the 11-point win. Kyra Rose led the way with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Dana Phelan added 11 points, including two three-pointers.

In the rematch at the Tank, the Saints found their rhythm from beyond the arc, shooting 49% (13-for-27) from three-point range to power the victory. CSI was outscored in each quarter and unable to complete the season sweep. Phelan paced all scorers with 19 points behind five three-pointers, while Shonyae Edmonds contributed 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Rose and Edmonds Earn All-ECC Honors

Rose earned All-ECC Second Team honors, while Edmonds was named to the All-ECC Third Team on Tuesday afternoon recognizing their consistent impact throughout the season. Rose and Edmonds are both listed in the top-5 spots in conference statistical categories while also leading the charge to their three game win streak to close out their regular season schedule.

Individual Scoring Comparison

The Dolphins enter postseason play on a three-game winning streak and are led by three double-figure scorers. Rose tops the team with 13.7 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds. Edmonds ranks second at 11.7 points per contest and leads the team with 8.2 rebounds per game after recording her fifth consecutive double-double in the regular-season finale against Molloy. Phelan averages 10.3 points per game and ranks third in the ECC with 1.9 three-pointers made per game.

D'Youville is led by one double-digit scorer at 13.7 points per game, followed by contributors averaging 9.8 and 8.2 points per contest.
