STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island women's basketball team leaned on the standout play of Kyra Rose and Shonyae Edmonds throughout the 2025–26 season. The duo powered the Dolphins on both ends of the floor, earning East Coast Conference (ECC) honors and, most recently, recognition from the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA).

Rose, a Jersey City, NJ native, delivered a career-best senior campaign. She earned All-ECC Second Team and ECC All-Tournament Team honors after a strong postseason in which she averaged 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 52% from the field. For the season, she led the team and ranked seventh in the conference with 13.9 points per game, adding 7.4 rebounds per contest. Rose was a consistent all-around contributor, finishing the year with 402 points, 90 assists, 46 steals and also reached a major milestone, surpassing 1,000 career points to become just the second player in the program's Division II era to do so. She concluded her career with 1,053 points, 622 rebounds, and 202 assists, and was named to the MBWA Second Team.

Her top outing came in the regular-season finale against Molloy, where she totaled 23 points, 13 rebounds, four steals, and a block. Edmonds finished the season averaging 11.8 points per game while leading the team with 8.3 rebounds per game, ranking third in the ECC. She also paced the Dolphins with 28 blocks.
