Fresh off of a tremendous career, Christina Tufano joins the women's softball program as a volunteer assistant coach in time for the 2017 season. A two-time CUNYAC Player of the Year during her junior and senior seasons, Tufano also took the CUNYAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year away in the Spring of 2016.
A stalwart on the host corner for CSI, Tufano closed her career as the school's record holder in hits (213), doubles (47), and RBI (158), finishing her career with a .418 batting average, the 5th-highest in CSI history.
Tufano will work principally as a secondary hitting coach and bench coach, while also helping track CSI student-athlete academic progress, as CSI Softball hopes to continue to carry the torch as one of the college's premier scholar-athlete driven programs.
