COLLEGE OF STATEN ISLAND ATHLETICS

Ralph Tufano

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Also making his collegiate coaching debut for the Dolphins' softball program will be Ralph Tufano.  The brother to recent softball graduate and CUNYAC Player of the Year Christina Tufano, he brings a wealth of experience to the table as a former athlete.

A former NCAA Division II standout at Dowling College, he starred on the program from 2007-11, participating in the 2009 College World Series.  As a four-year starter in right field, Tufano hopes to translate a lot of his experiences into working with the CSI outfielders in the field and with all of the Dolphins and their approach at the plate as hitters.

After his graduation, Tufano has been active on the coaching scene, serving as an assistant for baseball for St. Joseph by the Sea High School from 2013-18.  He also manages the New York Prospects travel organization for baseball players ages 13-16.  he has also served as a private hitting instructor and outfield agility trainer for both male and female players.

Alongside his work on the diamond, Tufano is also a full-time teacher at P25/I.S. 7 since 2017.
