Stella Porto

CSI's head coach since the 2003 season, Stella Porto is already one of the most successful, as she has won 11 CUNYAC Championships, made 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and earned CUNY Coach of the Year honors seven times as well.

The Dolphins have posted 20-win seasons under her guidance in 11 of the last 13 years, and her 381 wins rank first in CSI history. Under her guidance, over 30 CSI women's softball single-season individual and team records have been broken and in the 2017 the team won a school record 35 games.

A New York native, Porto earned a scholarship to NCAA Division I Long Island University to play softball, and helped lead the Blackbirds to an ECAC Championship in 1987. She then transferred to the College of Staten Island, where she played her final three years, winning CUNYAC Championships in 1989 & 1990.

After graduation, Porto hit the high school coaching circuit, winning three consecutive junior varsity titles with St. Joseph by the Sea High School. She then spent three years with St. Joseph Hill High School before making her collegiate coaching debut at her alma mater. Porto served as an Assistive Technology Specialist with the New York City Department of Education for 12 years and currently she is an administrator in charge of Alternate Assessment, Pre-K-21 years old, for P25R which currently has 23 Special Education School Sites throughout Staten Island.
