The FDU-Florham Devils made short work of the College of Staten Island women's soccer game, gliding by the visiting Dolphins by a 9-0 count in non-conference action played earlier this evening in Florham, New Jersey. CSI dipped to 2-1 on the season, while the Devils upped their mark to 2-3-1.
The Devils used a pair of scoring spurts in both halves to take complete and dominating control of the game. In the first half, FDU tallied three times in a span of 6:05 to take a 3-0 lead after the game's first 1 minutes. Brittany Kanickij scored two of the thee while Lora Fink tallied the other. FDU used a Michelle Monte tally at 37:37 to complete the first half scoring at 4-0.
After the next 37 minutes of scoreless soccer, FDU went on the offensive again. The time the home squad tallied five times in a span of 13:51 to win by the lop-sided amount. Five different goal scorers tallied for FDU.
The Devils, who defeated the Dolphins, 4-0, a year ago, out-shot the Dolphins, 38-3 (22-1 on goal). The Dolphins, who only dressed 14 players for the game, also allowed 10 corner kick opportunities, next to only one for CSI.
The Dolphins will be back in action on Saturday, when they travel to SUNY-Purchase in another non-conference game at 12pm.
