Allie Shanahan scored 1,000^th career point as a Dolphin despite the lopsided 101-52 loss to Baruch College. The Bearcats remain undefeated in the conference with a 5-0 record as CSI drops to a 2-3 record.

 

The Bearcats came on strong taking the lead off the bat and increasing it to 25 by halftime, 47-22. Baruch went on a 9-0 run to start the second stanza and followed by a gradual lead deeper into the half that the Dolphins could not get control of.

 

Coming in the game with 15 points remaining to reach 1,000, Shanahan started the first half with 9 points. With 3:51 left on the clock, a layup saw her complete the milestone. With this accomplishment Shanahan has become the 16th female player in Dolphin history to hit the 1,000th point mark.

 

Baruch was led by Jessica Duleba with 20 points. Megan Bouwens and Folashade Akinde both added 15 points apiece.

 

Shanahan and Olivia Tierno finished with 15 points apiece while Katelyn Hepworth totaled 11 points.

 

The Dolphins will be back in action on Wednesday, January 19, as they travel to CCNY for a 5:00 pm conference contest.
