RAMAPO STORMS PAST CSI WOMEN ON THE HARDWOOD

Box Score The College of Staten Island women's basketball squad fell hard on the road tonight, falling to non-conference Ramapo College, 81-36, in Mahwah, New Jersey.  CSI evened to 2-2 overall with the loss, while Ramapo stayed unbeaten at 4-0.

CSI scored on their opening basket of the game, then proceeded to make just 3-of-19 from the floor in the rest of the first half, committing 18 turnovers in the process, as the Roadrunners took a 45-13 lead into the lockers.  Ramapo broke up a tie game at 14:28 to go by racing through a numbing 25-3 run over the next 11 minutes, powered by Alexa Ryan and Lindsey Gripenberg's seven points each.

Mired in poor shooting all night, Ramapo was able to feast on the Dolphins to the tune of shooting 55% from the floor, which included a 4-10 mark from behind the arc.  CSI also saw a trio of players foul out, as the Dolphins committed 26 personal fouls to Ramapo's 10.  The result was the Roadrunners scoring 19 points on 33 attempts from the charity stripe, while CSI shot just 5-of-8 from the line.

Ramapo was paced by a game-high 17 points from Ryan, while Gripenberg would finish with 12.  Kelly Haspel led the way with six rebounds.  CSI's only double-digit scorer was Rachel Rosado, who finished with 11 tallies.

CSI will now have a full week off before returning to action on Tuesday, November 29, at 6pm, on the road against New Jersey City University.
