Box Score The College of Staten Island women's basketball squad saw their mini four game win streak come to an end, 78-66, against the visiting Bobcats of New York University this afternoon at the CSI Sports & Recreation Center. The Dolphins fell to 3-4 overall, while the Bobcats improved to 5-3 overall.
In the first frame, the Bobcats jumped out to an early, 21-10, lead in the first six minutes of play; powered by a three ball from Melissa Peng. The Dolphins responded with a 9-0 run, starting with back-to-back jumpers by
Olivia Tierno and ending with a four point play from
Victoria Gallinaro. The lead was cut to two, 21-19, with twelve minutes left in the first half. The Bobcats quickly went on their own 9-0 run to go back up, 30 -19. NYU would go up by as many as twelve before the half ended, however, CSI ended the half only down by seven, 42-35.
The Dolphins and Bobcats would trade baskets for most of the second half. The Bobcats saw themselves up by eleven several times in the first four minutes. Free throws by Riley Wurtz put them up, 52-41, with sixteen minutes to play. The Dolphins would cut the lead to seven, 54-47, on another three ball by Gallinaro. However, that would prove to be the closest they would get for the rest of the game as the Bobcats slowly took bigger leads as the game progressed. The final score was, 78-66.
The Dolphins got hammered on the rebounding battle, 48-21. They were led by Tierno's 20 points while the Bobcats Cassidy Jourdan tallied 20 points of her own and teammate Wurtz posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

th, to take on the CCNY Beavers in a 5:00 PM CUNYAC matchup. Their next home game will be on Saturday, December 22
nd, 2012 against St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn for a 1:00 PM match-up.
