Box Score BROOKLYN, NY – With the season winding down, the College of Staten Island men's soccer team is looking to end the season on a high note as they have now posted three consecutive wins after registering a 3-2 victory over Brooklyn College, Saturday.

With the win, the Dolphins improve to 7-10-1 overall on the season and 4-3 in conference play, while the Bulldogs fall to 9-6 overall on the year and 5-2 in the CUNYAC.

Staten Island came out determined to spoil BC's senior day as the Dolphins got on the board in the 10th minute, when Alfonso Castaneda found an open Thomas Vazquez, who was able to beat the keeper and put the visitors up 1-0.

Not long after, Brooklyn's Dmitry Prokofyev took advantage of a penalty kick opportunity following a foul in the box, to even the game at 1-1 in the 12th minute. The game would remain knotted up at 1-1 as the teams headed into the intermission break.

The second half featured much of the same, as both teams battled for the go-ahead goal. CSI would eventually strike again, when Peter Hanna sent a pass into the box off a free kick that found Marcin Klim, who was able to find the back of the net in the 60th minute, putting the Dolphins up 2-1.

The CSI lead would not last long again, as junior Fernand Grisales headed in the equalizer on a rebound opportunity on a ball that came off the cross bar from a previous shot, tying the game at 2-2 in the 62nd minute.

With the game looking to head into overtime, Vazquez would strike once again with his second score of the day, taking a cross from Ali Fares to put the Dolphins ahead for good, 3-2, in the 80th minute to solidify the win.

Junior Kamil Ostrowski and Stamatis Boundouris split time in net for the Bulldogs, as Ostrowski played the first half making three saves; while Boundouris played the second making one save.

John Gioeli played all 90 minutes in goal, making seven saves on the day.

CSI will close the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 23, as the Dolphins will travel to Aviator Field to take on York College. The match is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start time.
