The College of Staten Island women's tennis team ran their perfect record to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play this season with a 9-0 win over visiting York College in a match played this afternoon at the CSI Tennis Center.  The Cardinals fell to 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the CUNYAC with the loss.

It was all CSI from start to finish today, as the Dolphins won for the second time this season via the shutout.  In Doubles, the team of Sophia Varriano and Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert were crisp in the pole position, taking an 8-1 win over York's Maleeka Chin and Tenzin Kunchok.  One step down, CSI's duo of Ilona Stoyko and Nozima Toshpulatova won by an identical score, while the tandem of Jean Baak and Madiha Mulla won their flight, 8-0.

In Singles, only York's Chin was able to score a point, falling to Stoyko, 6-2, 6-2.  After that, CSI won all flights via a 6-0, 6-0, count.  Bragerton-Nasert, Baak, Mulla, Toshpulatova, and Jacqueline Jamaleddine all scored wins for the Dolphins.

The 6-0 start for the Dolphins in 2013 is the best-ever under current head coach Paul Ricciardi.  The team will look to stay hot against Richard Stockton College of New Jersey this Thursday on the road at 4pm.
