All-Time Series: CSI leads 52-8
Last Meeting: Feb. 2, 2016 - CSI won 82-63
Players To Watch (CSI): Frank
Schettino did not score in CSI's win over York on Saturday, but continues to be the team leader in points, averaging 15.4 points per game. He also leads all Dolphins with 45 assists. Fellow senior
Khaleeq Baum wrapped up a monster week last week, where he averaged a double-double in points and rebounds, despite limited action against York on Saturday.
Kevon Murphy had his biggest career outing against Stevens Tech last week with 24 points. He is averaging a hair under 10 points per game.
Players To Watch (CCNY): Khalil Hamer is the prime catalyst for the Beavers, as he is averaging a team best 19.2 points per game to go with his team-leading 31 assists. David Solano is a big deep threat for the Beavers as he has canned 17 three-pointers this season in 53 attempts. Look for him to want to expand on his 12 points per game average. Robbie
Dionisio is the squad leader in rebounds, averaging 6.3 per contest. That will go with a 12.2 scoring average.
News & Notes: CSI has had a big edge in the series in recent years, having won 11 of 12 over the
CCNY since 2007. That said, the Beavers scored a big, 81-76, win over CSI in this building a year ago, only their second road win over CSI in 25 tries. CSI is undefeated at home this season at 2-0 and they've allowed 61 and 58 points in their two wins at the Sports & Recreation Center. The Beavers come in averaging 74.8 points per game but only shooting 39% from the floor as a team. CSI has won seven of its last eight games when holding opponents to less than 40% shooting from the floor. Meanwhile
CCNY has lost their last five games when shooting below 40%, and are 0-2 this season when it happens. Eighty points is a target for the Dolphins tonight. They are 27-1 all-time when scoring 80+ against
CCNY in their history. The Dolphins are also doing it with defense this year. In their three wins the Dolphins are allowing just 56.3 points per game and are forcing an average of 17.6 turnovers per game. In their four losses, CSI is allowing 89.8 points per game and are forcing just 15 per game. The Dolphins would like to get better percentages from behind the arc. Dating back to the 2014-15 season, the Dolphins have won their last 15 games when shooting over 40% from three-point territory.
