Players to Watch (CSI):
Nermina Bracic has been trouble for opposing defenses this season as she has used her speed to get by defenders and creating goal scoring opportunities for the Dolphins. Bracic has tallied three goals and two assists on the season in 617 minutes of action.
Adrianna Parello has been stout in the center of the pitch, winning a majority of her 50/50 battles. Parello has a knack for finding her open teammates in the box from free-kicks so look for Parello to continue creating those chances. In fact, in last year's CUNYAC Championship game, Parello assisted both goals off of free-kicks. Leading the team with seven assists,
Lauren Smith will continue to pick apart opposing defenses and will hope to return to the stat sheet after a four-game stretch without recording a point.
Players to Watch (LC): Daisy Gomes paces the lightning with six goals on just 16 shots this season. Half of Gomes' goals have been game-winners and she has missed her only penalty kick attempt of the season. Gomes also shares the lead on the team with a pair of assists with Melanie Siranaula. Siranaula isn't afraid to uncork a shot whenever she has the chance as she leads the team with 23 shots and sits second on the team with five goals. Rebecca Gritz has allowed 10 goals this season and has made 43 saves between the pipes to go along with her five shutouts.
News & Notes: The Lightning have won just once throughout this series which came back in 2015. Lehman College defeated the Dolphins 5-1 in that game before falling to the Dolphins, 2-1, in extra time in the CUNYAC Championship game. Since that loss, the Dolphins have won five straight and have allowed just three goals against compared to scoring 12 of their own. The Dolphins have struggled away from home this season, posting a 2-5 record on the road while the Lightning have thrived on their home field, 4-0-1.
