Players to Watch (CSI): Samantha LaValle ended her scoring drought against Lehman College in her last outing helping lift the Dolphins to a 2-1 win. Lauren Smith has been crucial for the Dolphins in the center of the pitch this season, winning 50-50 balls and dissecting opposing defenses to feed balls through to her forwards. Smith has tallied a team-high eight assists through 14 games and has played 1,116 minutes. Catherine Mulligan has been a brick wall for the Dolphins over her four-year career and continues to prove to be an issue for opposing forwards. Mulligan has one goal to her name this season in 1035 minutes of action. Adrianna Parello has been a nice compliment to Smith in the midfield and has tallied three goals and five assists while posting the second-highest minute total. Brianna DiStefano has played both midfield and defense throughout her career and this season has played as part of a defensive unit that has allowed just three CUNYAC goals all season.
Players to Watch (BC): Keri Kenna has scored over half of the goals for the Bulldogs this season, tallying a team-high 11 goals. Rachel Gomez has been vital to Kenna's success as she has eight assists in 12 games while adding three goals of her own. Pairing up with Kenna up top, Deborah Vixama has picked her spots and capitalized when called upon, netting four goals on just 11 shots. Brooklyn has rotated keepers with Amanpreet Kaur leading the way, making 52 saves while allowing just over five goals per game.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have won three of the last five meetings against the Bulldogs, including a 2-0 win in the CUNYAC Championship game in 2016. At home against Brooklyn, the Dolphins are 3-0-1 and have allowed just one Brooklyn goal which came in the 2013 meeting. As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging just under two goals per game while the Dolphins are pouring in just under four per contest.
