Players to Watch (CSI): Mirsade Pelinkovic continues to produce while on the pitch, sitting second on the team in goals, six, and assists, seven. Pelinkovic uses her skill to dribble around opponents and feed the ball to her teammates in the box or, if the gameplan calls for it, she can play defense for the Dolphins as well. Lizbeth Aparicio is coming off of a two-assist game, bringing her tally up to four on the year. Aparicio was the hero last season, making streaking runs into the box from the back line which included a brace against Lehman College in the CUNYAC Championship game. Nermina Bracic has proved to be a speed mismatch all season long for opposing defenders and she is able to use her speed to get around defenders and into open space allowing her to send in a cross and put a shot on goal.
Players to Watch (RC): Maciana Mazzeo paces the Ravens with 10 goals on 52 total shots. Mazzeo also has three game-winners on her resume and converted the lone penalty kick she has taken. Driving the tempo of the game for Rosemont has been Avery Bramell as she has three assists which tops the team. Darby O'Rourke has been a staple in the back line for the Ravens and has played the second most minutes at 1213.
News & Notes: The Dolphins and Ravens have only ever met once before which came last season in Rosemont, PA with Staten Island coming away with a 1-0 victory. The Ravens come into today's game coming off of a tough conference loss to Cedar Crest College. The Dolphins, have won two straight, scoring six over that stretch while allowing just one goal. Rosemont and Staten Island have one common opponent in Keystone College which saw different results. The Dolphins defeated Keystone 6-0 while the Ravens fell, 4-2. Both teams played Brooklyn College to the same final scoreline as well, a 4-0 victory.
