9/22/2018 8:00:00 AM

The College of Staten Island men's soccer program looks to continue their win streak and extend it to four in a row this afternoon.  The Dolphins will play host to the Bloodhounds of John Jay College at 1:00 pm following the women's soccer game at 11:00 am.

CSI VS. JOHN JAY AT-A-GLANCE
Matchup:  CSI (5-2)  vs. John Jay College (2-4)
Where: CSI Soccer Complex - 2800 Victory Blvd., Staten Island, NY
Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are coming off of a massive 9-0 score line and Joe Bolella was the most successful Dolphins during that rout.  Bolella scored a hat-trick on just five shots in that CUNYAC contest against CCNY. Mike Arellanes was effective from the wing, picking up a pair of assists after dismantling the Beavers' defense. Breny Salas picked up his fourth goal of the season, and third in a four-game stretch. Bryant Navarro is the goal-scoring leader for the Dolphins, tallying seven goals in five starts.  Christian Carucci will look to put on stout performances between the pipes as he boasts a 1.33 goals allowed average.
Players to Watch (JJC): Nicholas Towler and James Haddad share the lead for the Bloodhounds, both posting five points on two goals and an assist. Towler has started five games and has a game-winner to his name. Mark Shnadshteyn is not one to shy away from taking a shot as he paces the team with 17, putting 10 on target. Steven Towler has spent the most time in goal for the Bloodhounds, posting 470 minutes of action while allowing 1.34 goals per game.
News & Notes: The Dolphins lead the Bloodhounds 27-9-3 all-time and have not lost in the last eight meetings. On their home field, the Dolphins are 17-5-3 against John Jay.  At the CSI Soccer Complex, Staten Island is outscoring the Bloodhounds, 9-3.  The latest meeting came on October 18, 2017, where the teams played to a 0-0 draw.
