The College of Staten Island women's soccer team is putting the four-game win streak on the line this afternoon in continued CUNYAC-play, as they play host to Medgar Evers College at the CSI Soccer Complex at 11am.  The Cougars come in winless, and are looking for positive signs after a tough entry into 2018.

CSI VS. MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGE AT-A-GLANCE
Matchup:  CSI (4-2, 1-0 CUNYAC)  vs. Medgar Evers (0-3, 0-1 CUNYAC)
Where: CSI Soccer Complex - 2800 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY
Live Stats:  https://csidolphins.com/sidearmstats/wsoc/summary
All-Time Series:  CSI leads, 19-4-1
Last Meeting:  October 7, 2017, CSI won 7-0
Players to Watch (CSI): Samantha LaValle continues to be the primary catalyst to the Dolphins offense this season and she leads all CUNYAC scorers by a wide margin, netting 12 goals so far this season on 47 shots, 32 on goal.  Lauren Smith is next in line with three goals with all of those goals having come in the last four games.  Mirsade Pelinkovic is tied with Smith with the team lead with four assists, and she has a pair of goals as well, also coming in the last two games.  Steady defenders Catherine Mulligan, Brianna DiStefano, and Adrianna Parello will all be looked at to help steady the ship defensively, and look for players like Natalia Sandor and Rebecca D'Aloia to be all over the pitch, helping in the back while lending to the attack up the field.  Keeper Kaila DiBenedetto has had three shut-outs in the last four games and is boasting a .721 save percentage.
Players to Watch (MEC): MEC has been starved for offense this season, as they have registered a total of just four shots through three games and have yet to score.  The shots have been claimed by Birhonne Desroses and Dominique Kelly, both of whom have missed a game each this season as well.  Ajene Christian has been between the sticks through the first three games this season and despite giving up many goals, she has been able to parry a total of 15 shots.
News & Notes: CSI comes into this game on a 14-game unbeaten streak against CUNYAC opponents, a run that includes the CUNYAC Playoffs.  CSI is the three-time defending CUNYAC Champs, and got their CUNYAC season started on Wednesday with a 3-0 win over John Jay College.  The Cougars also got the CUNYAC season started on Wednesday, falling hard to Lehman College, last year's CUNYAC runner-up, by an 8-0 count.  Lehman scored four goals in the first 17 minutes before pumping the brakes offensively.  CSI has taken 19 of the 24 all-time meetings, and recently it has been all Dolphins, as CSI has won the last seven meetings by a combined score of 72-0.  The Dolphins are 12-3 all-time at home against MEC and CSI is 3-0 at home this season.  MEC is on a 15-game losing streak dating back to last season and have been outscored this season, 28-0.  MEC's last wins in the series came back in 2010.  That season MEC won in the regular season, 4-2, and then again in the CUNYAC Championship Game, 3-1.  CSI forward Samantha LaValle has already registered 12 goals this season, and needs to just two more this season to crack the single-season Top 10 at CSI as far as goals scored.  Her shooting percentage of 25.5% is already ranked 8th in CSI single-season history.
