The College of Staten Island women's soccer recently saw their five-game winning streak snapped, and they are looking to get back on the winning side of the ledger this afternoon, matching up against winless York College. CSI is also putting their undefeated CUNYAC record on the line in this one, as they come in with a 2-0 record thus far in conference play.

Players to Watch (CSI): Senior
Lauren Smith has been on a tear of late, having scored in CSI's last three games and four out of the last five. She has also added six assists in that same stretch, leading the squad. The team is still being led overall by
Samantha LaValle's 13 goals. LaValle recently had a four-game goal-scoring streak come to an end on Monday, but she is among the nation's leaders with 13 goals. Look for
Mirsade Pelinkovic to be a factor. She is coming on strong and has two goals and four assists his season and was recently named CUNYAC Rookie of the Week. Goalkeeper
Kaila DiBenedetto has started every game this season, and boasts a .667 save percentage.
Players to Watch (YC): The totality of the offense for York this season has come from freshman Diana Velasquez, who leads the unit with three goals on 21 shots. The rest of the York team has 20 shots put together. Elodie Dorville and Damata Usman have been consistent attackers and will look to get uncorked for Cardinals and get into open space. Defender Diamond Jackson will look to keep CSI attackers at bay. She has played on the defense and has also started four games in goal, leading the team with 44 saves. Stephanie Gutierrez has also spent time there, playing in three games, making 30 saves.
News & Notes: It has been all Dolphins since these two teams have been meeting in 2011, the same year that York started their women's soccer program. CSI has won all nine meetings, and have done it without yielding a goal, winning by a combined 62-0. CSI is 4-0 all-time on the road over York. Of the nine all-time meetings, eight have occurred during the regular season, with a lone game in 2011 coming in the playoffs. Including the playoffs, CSI is on a 15-game unbeaten streak against CUNYAC opponents. York has yet to win this season, and they went winless last season as well. Their last victory came on October 3, 2016, a 3-2 win over St. Joseph's College (BK). Since that time the Cardinals have gone 0-29-2. So far this season, the teams share one common opponent. York fell to SJC-BK, 10-1, while CSI was able to defeat the Bears, 7-3.
