CSI VS. BROOKLYN COLLEGE AT-A-GLANCE
Matchup: College of Staten Island (5-6) vs. Brooklyn College (4-8-1)
Where: Brooklyn College Field - 2900 Bedford Ave (Brooklyn, NY)
All-Time Series: CSI leads, 8-3-2
Last Meeting: October 20, 2018 - CSI won, 4-0
Players to Watch (CSI): CSI's comes in with a trio of players that have scored six goals, Mirsade Pelinkovic, Samantha LaValle and two-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Amber Mitchell . Pelinkovic continues to lead the team in points as she has dished out four assists to go along with her six goals. That assist total is second only to Lizbeth Aparicio who has six. Defensively, Aparicio and Rebecca D'Aloia have led the Dolphins in minutes with both also making contributions on the attack as well. Each has scored a goal in support of Samantha Beaudreault who has logged the majority of the minutes in goal. Through her ten starts, she has saved 67% of the shots she has faced with a goals-allowed average of 2.30.
Players to Watch (BC): Rachel Gomez has been a dominant force for the Bulldogs on the attack and has found the back of the net eleven times through Brooklyn's first thirteen contests. The team's second leading goal-scorer, Anna Curran, has four goals to go along with a team-high five assits. Brooklyn has had several more players score multiple goals as well with both Noemi Vazquez and Aycin Yalcin tallying three and Jailene Lucero adding two more. In goal, all but one half has been played by Carmen Proffitt who has saved over 74% of the shots that she has faced while allowing 2.44 goals per game.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have won eight of the thirteen matchups against the Bulldogs including each of the last three. In those three CSI victories, they have outscored Brooklyn 13-0 and the Bulldogs have only scored once against the Dolphins since 2014 when they defeated CSI 1-0. With Brooklyn looking for their first win against CSI in five years, the Dolphins look to remain perfect against the CUNYAC in 2019 as a win today would improve them to 5-0 against their former conference.
What's Next?: The last two matches of the year for CSI Women's Soccer will be played at home, the first being on Wednesday against John Jay at 3:30 and the season finale to follow on Saturday at noon against NYU.
