All-Time Series: First meeting
Players to Watch (CSI): Philip Lefkowitz continues to lead the Dolphins in goals with seven and and with his assist against Baruch on Saturday, he is now the team leader in that category as well with four. Carlos Montesinos is one of three Dolphins who registered a goal against Baruch, and with his fifth of the season he is now second on the team in that category. Next on the list behind Montesinos is Jahmali Peterson with four and along with Montesinos and Lefkowitz, Bryant Navarro is the only other Dolphin with multiple goals and multiple assists, two of each. Defensively, the duo of Ryan Layman and Mohammedou Sow have both eclipsed the 1000 minute mark with Sow adding his first goal as a Dolphin in CSI's previous game against Baruch. The last of the three Dolphins to score in that matchup with the Bearcats was Daniel Angulo who now has three goals and an assist on the season. Christian Carucci and Jake Foeldes have have both gotten extensive time in goal with Carucci allowing 1.60 goals per game and saving 70% of the shots he has faced and Foeldes allowing 1.36 goals per game alongside a 67% save percentage. For CSI, their graduating class of Layman, Lefkowitz, Montesinos, Erick Conde, and Chris Vendra will all be playing in their final game for the program tonight looking to end their collegiate careers with a win.
Players to Watch (FU): The Golden Falcons have only had three different players score a goal this season and have found the back of the net 14 times in fourteen contests. Chris McLaughlin leads the way in scoring with six goals and a pair of assists, both team-highs. Diego Duffort has added another five goals and an assist making him the only other player to tally both a goal and an assist for his team this season. The third and final goal-scorer for Felician is Leo Yang who has netted three goals to this point in the season. Only two Golden Falcons have played in every game thus far, Estuardo Borja and Dean Wright. Wright has contributed two assists from his defensive midfielder position while Broja has also added one of his own. In goal, Alex Ficarra has started all but one game for the Golden Falcons allowing 3.29 goals per game and saving 64% of the shots he has faced.
News & Notes: This will be the first time these two teams have met and will be the sixth time that the Dolphins have faced a Division II opponent this season. In the previous five matchups against D2 competition, the Dolphins are 0-4-1. However, two of the four defeats have only been by a single goal, a 3-2 OT loss against Concordia (NY) and a 1-0 loss to #11 Mercy College. The lone tie came against St. Thomas Aquinas. If the Dolphins can pick up their tenth victory of the season tonight, it will be the sixth straight season with double-digit wins for the program as they have achieved that every year since 2014.
