All-Time Series: First Meeting
Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins have relied heavily upon the offense of
Adeola Latunji through their first two games and he leads the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game on 42.3% shooting.
Austin Mick and
Andrew Kartalis have also demonstrated the ability to heat up from the floor quickly as they are both shooting an identical 41.2% after two games averaging 9.5 and 8.5 points per game respectively. In addition to the work Mick has gotten running the point,
Rigaud Destime has also been tasked with running the Dolphins offense in the absence of
Christian Taylor. CSI hopes that he can combine his new role with some of the scoring prowess he demonstrated late last season. The Dolphins have also looked to
Joseph Zieris to assume an increased role this season as he has entered the starting lineup this year after filling the sixth man role down the stretch of the 2018-2019 season.
Players to Watch (SNHU): The Penmen have shot the ball extremely well through their first two games of the season while also having four players averaging double-figures. Leading the way in the points department is Eamonn Joyce with 20 per game including 42% shooting from beyond the arc. Shawn Montague has added another 17 on 47% shooting from the field and leads the team in rebounding with 11 per game. Jacari Sanders has averaged 13 per game on 47% from the floor and Corry Long rounds out the list of players averaging double-digits with his 12 points per game on a team-best 73% field goal percentage. Mikey Buscetto and Michael Almonacy have served as the primary playmakers for SNHU combining for 9.5 assists per game.
News & Notes: The Dolphins will be playing their third straight Division II opponent to open the 2019-2020 season and will be in search of their first victory against Division II competition as a provisional D2 program. As for the Penmen, it will be their third straight game against a member of the East Coast Conference. Though the Dolphins will not appear in the ECC standings this year and are not eligible for postseason play, they became members of the conference following their acceptance into Division II. Today's road game will be the last for CSI until early December as they will return to Staten Island for their season debut at The Tank in what will be the first of four straight home games.
What's Next?: The Dolphins will have two days off before taking their home floor for the first time this season on Wednesday against New York Tech. Tip-off will be at 7 PM.
