All-Time Series: First Meeting
Players to Watch (CSI): Megan McEwan continues to pace the team with 13.3 points per game, and has been very good from the line this season, hitting on 82% on a team-best 22 attempts from teh stripe. McEwan is also tied for third on the team with 4.3 rebounds per contest, a distinction she shares with freshman Jada Rogers who is also second on the team with 11.3 points per contest on an even 50% shooting from the floor (12-24). Kristina Arvelo is averaging eight markers per game and seven of her eight total field goals have been from beyond the arc, as she is shooting 32% from long range this season. The Dolphins recently returned Brianna Robisky from early-season injury, and despite foul trouble in her first game back, she put up four points and four rebounds this past weekend in 20 minutes.
Players to Watch (PU): Through three games, Taylor Williams has been the catalyst for the Eagles. She has taken a team-high 39 shots and leads the way with 13.3 points per game. She is also the team leader with 6.7 rebounds per contest so the Dolphins will be looking to keep her attacking style at bay. Sha-raya Haines through three starts is averaging an even 10 points per and five rebounds per game, while Angelica Flores leads the team with six three-pointers on just 11 attempts (55%). Hannah Benac and Jimmirah Johnson can also be looked at as offensive contributors while Katelyn Andres is the backcourt catalyst with nine total assists.
News & Notes: Today marks the first meeting ever between the two sides. Post University is an NCAA Division II institution that plays in the Northeast 10 conference. After losing their opener to Franklin Pierce University, they've won their last two games over Cheyney University and American International by a combined 71 points. The Eagles finished an even 14-14 a year ago, but were just 5-10 last year away from their home court. For CSI, they dropped their home opener last week to William Paterson University and are coming off of a tough loss to Southern New Hampshire last weekend. The Dolphins are trying to avoid their first 0-4 start since the 2010-11 season, when they opened 0-6. Rebounds are going to tell a big story tonight. Post is a +18.7 rebounds per game this season, one of the best marks in Division II, while CSI is a -5.3.
What's Next?: CSI will keep the Division II schedule rolling as they travel to face New York Tech on Tuesday, November 26, at 5 pm. After that the Dolphins will take on their cross-town NCAA Division I-rivals of Wagner College on Saturday, November 30, at 1 pm. As for Post, after this one they will continue their four-game road streak when they travel to face Queens College at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, November 27.
